Houses on the High Plains

Repairs, replacements, ducts and filtration for homes in Amarillo, Canyon and the towns around them.

Repairs

When it stops, or nearly stops

Most calls out here are one of a short list: a filter that has gone solid, a coil packed with dust, a capacitor, a contactor, a blocked condensate line, an ignition fault on a furnace. We measure before we name it, and we tell you which of those it actually is.

If the repair is not worth doing on the age of the system, we say so and show you what the alternative costs. That is a comparison, not a sales pitch.

Replacements

Sized from the house, not from the old label

The unit that was there may have been oversized when it went in. We look at the house — area, insulation, windows, ductwork, orientation — and then talk about equipment.

  • Furnaces and heat pumpsGas heating is common here and a heat pump is worth comparing. We will show you both, with the backup-heat question answered honestly for Panhandle winters.
  • Air conditioningDry-climate cooling behaves differently from the Gulf Coast. Sizing for the dry bulb and getting the airflow right matters more than chasing a rating.
  • DuctworkA new system on leaking ducts wastes part of what you paid for. We test, seal and repair rather than ignoring it.
  • FiltrationA deeper filter cabinet is usually the single best change on a dusty site — more surface, longer intervals, lower pressure drop.

Your site decides the filter interval

Two houses a mile apart can need filters at very different rates. Gravel roads, ploughed fields, pets, open windows, a remodel — each one shortens the interval.

  • Condensate and drain workPans, traps, float switches and the line that blocks every August.
  • Return airAdding a return where a closed door starves half the house.
  • Seasonal serviceA cooling check in spring, a heating check in autumn, on request rather than on contract.
